Our Approach
Your Goals are My Focus
People often ask some version of, "How do you manage X condition?" The honest answer is: I can't tell you without knowing the person in front of me.
I've spent years building an in-depth understanding of complex, chronic hormonal and gynecological conditions — not as abstract diagnoses, but as things that show up differently in every body. I invested in that knowledge so I could offer truly personalized care, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
My goal is simple: help you understand your body, walk you through every option available to you — hormonal, medical, lifestyle, and beyond — and together make a plan that actually fits your needs, your priorities, and your life.

About Isla Oliver
DNP, CNM, ARNP

Hello!
I'm Dr. Isla Oliver, but please call me Isla (like “island” without the “nd”), and I'm so glad you've found me. I'm a Certified Nurse Midwife with my Doctorate of Nursing Practice who specializes in gynecology with a focus on hormones and chronic conditions such as PCOS, PMDD, endometriosis, and more.
“Midwife” literally means “with women,” and that's why I chose this path. I love working through problems side by side with my patients and sharing the knowledge I've aquired to help find the right solution for each person.
Many people don't realize that midwifery care extends far beyond pregnancy and birth. It includes reproductive, sexual, and gynecologic health from puberty through the end of life.
For me, all of the changes and challenges women and gender diverse patients face outside of pregnancy are the most fascinating—and deserving of far more time, energy, and study than our society usually offers...

How does the collaborative care model work?
The first step is understanding.
In a collaborative care model, it's vital that your provider (Isla) gets the time to know what exactly you are experiencing, for how long, and what you would like your life & health to look like. Then, we incorporate up-to-date evidence in the fields of gynecology, hormone therapy, and women's health to make a plan tailored for you.
You are in charge of your healthcare every step of the way, and we work together, rather than a top-down prescriptive approach.
Isla is in-network with Aetna, Premera and Regence.
At this time, all out-of-network visits will be schedule as cash-only, and Isla will provide a Super Bill which you can submit to your insurer for out-of-network reimbursement.
Yes, Isla Oliver, DNP, CNM, ARNP is fully licensed to practice in Washington State. Our telehealth platform is HIPAA-compliant, ensuring that your care is delivered securely and professionally.
Absolutely! We are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based gender-affirming hormone therapy. Isla follows WPATH guidelines and works collaboratively with patients to ensure safe and supportive medical transitions.
What is a DNP, CNM, ARNP?
Good question!
In Washington state, an ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner) is a fully independent and autonomous healthcare provider. They undergo rigorous Master’s or Doctoral training to diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications for various medical conditions.
Nurse practitioners do a lot of jobs that most people think of as Medical Doctor (MD) roles. The primary difference is that ARNPs being in the clinic allows MDs to focus on things like surgery, not typically performed by nurse practitioners.
For Isla, her degree is Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), license is ARNP, and board certification is Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). So she is a doctor, a nurse practitioner, and midwife, all at once.
